Hey y'all, I was private messaged to submit a post in this sub too after posting in Bitcoin earlier today. I didn't even know this Reddit existed, so sorry about that. I'm kind of new to Reddit. I also had problems posting there earlier today and messaged the mods as my post disappeared after submitting it. I don't even know what happened to it to be honest since it was my first post, they never replied back to me. Anyhow I built a new tool that gives you the price of Bitcoin and allows you to calculate it back and forth from USD and BTC. There are other similar sites out there that do the same thing but I wanted to try it out myself and add my own flavor. I'm an aspiring web designer! It's called WTF is the Bitcoin Price!? Here is the link: http://bitcoinprice.wtf/ Let me know what you think!

Mycelium devs; Please remove MtGox from your "Bitcoin Price" calculations
At least allow the user to select from a list which exchange(s) to use in the calculations. Right now my balance says the average is $390. I can't use the "send USD" functionality right now because it's not trustworthy.
I know it's based on supply and demand in each individual exchange site, but I'm interested in the details. I want to know what formula they use and how often prices get updated. Every minute? Every second? Every millisecond? A related question: how does instant buy work, for example in Coinbase? How can they guarantee that there will be X bitcoins for sale at that particular point? I recall trading in MtGox you had to wait for someone to want to buy your coins. Thanks in advance.
